Utility Rates and Fees
Yukon utility rates are set by the city council and include:
- Water – $7.50 base charge + $3.25 per 1,000 gallons used
- Sewer – $14 base charge
- Trash – $12.75 per month
- Sales tax – 8.5% of total bill
Rates are subject to periodic increases, so check your latest bill for current charges.
Late payments over 15 days incur a 10% penalty. Accounts 60+ days past due may have service disconnected.
Billing Cycles and Due Dates
Yukon utility bills are sent out monthly and are typically due around the 10th of each month.
So your January bill would be sent in late December or early January and due on or around January 10th.
If the due date falls on a weekend or holiday, you can pay the next business day without a late fee.
Pay attention to due dates on each monthly bill to avoid penalties. Setting up autopay or text/email reminders is an easy way to remember.
Leak Adjustments and Disputes
If you have a water leak on your side of the meter, you may be eligible for a leak adjustment on your bill after repairs are made. Leak adjustments are issued as credits on your next bill.
If you find an error on your bill, you can dispute the charges in writing within 10 days of receiving it. The city will investigate disputed bills and make any corrections.
Closing or Transferring Service
If you’re moving within Yukon, you’ll need to set up utility service at your new address. Download the service application on the city website and submit by mail, email, or in person.
If you’re moving outside the city, notify the utility billing department at least 3 days before your move date to close your account. You will receive a final bill that must be paid immediately.

Yukon residents have the option to change their current OPT IN or OPT OUT participation in the Pafford Medical Services CareNet Membership Subscription [LINK].
Customers who opt into the membership will be charged $5.65 per month, starting with the December Utility Bill.If you are currently enrolled in the program and wish to continue, no action is required. For residents who would like to change their membership status, they may opt in or out by Friday, November 15, 2024. The membership status change goes into effect December 1, 2024.
There will be no further opportunity to opt in or out until the open enrollment period begins in October 2025.
